Rental yield is the annual rental income generated from the property as a percentage of its total purchase price. For instance, if a property worth ₹1 crore generates ₹3 lakh in annual rent, the rental yield would be around 3 % for the same.

 

Rental yield is an attractive option for buyers who want regular cash flow from their property. Demand for rental housing continues to remain strong due to urban migration, especially in areas close to business hubs, metro stations and employment corridors.

It is 2026 and many investors are looking at rental income as a secondary source of income. In India, rental yield typically ranges from 2% to 4% in most cities.
